Water Source Heat Pump Maintenance Done Right

Water Source Heat Pump Maintenance Done Right image

Water source heat pumps are a different beast compared to your standard air-to-air system. They rely on water loops to transfer heat, which means the mechanical side of things is more complex - and the maintenance that goes with it requires a trained eye and hands-on experience.

This is exactly the kind of work we do. A system like this has a lot going on: refrigerant lines, water connections, coils, electrical components, and more. When one thing is off, it can quietly drag down the efficiency of the whole unit. Regular maintenance catches those issues before they turn into expensive repairs or a full breakdown.

What we're looking at here is an older H+P water source heat pump unit. These systems are built to last, but that longevity depends entirely on how well they're maintained. Dirty coils, worn connections, and neglected components will shorten the life of even the toughest equipment. Keeping up with service intervals is what separates a system that runs for decades from one that fails ahead of its time.

We go through everything - check the coil condition, inspect water connections, verify refrigerant levels, test electrical components, and make sure the system is operating the way it should. No shortcuts. Just honest, thorough work on equipment that your comfort depends on.

A well-maintained heat pump runs more efficiently, uses less energy, and keeps your space comfortable without working harder than it needs to. That's the goal every time we show up for a maintenance call.
